Garrett McLaughlin
Garrett McLaughlin is a healthcare licensed athletic trainer, performance coach, and certified active release techniques provider who loves helping others achieve their desired health and fitness goals. He currently operates inside Crux Chiropractic in Shorewood as well as remotely with his Online Movement Coaching Program. Garrett received a BS in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine from Quinnipiac University and an M.S. in Physical Education: Sport and Fitness from Florida International University.
Aside from his strong educational background, Garrett credits much of his knowledge and skills from many great mentors throughout the years. He has spent significant time applying his knowledge in the field by completing internships with the University Maryland Sports Medicine Department, North Carolina State University Sports Medicine Department, Graduate Assistantship with Florida International University Sports Medicine, and provided sports medicine coverage at the United States Olympic Training Center (Chula Vista), Boston Marathon, USTA Dunlop Orange Bowl, amongst other things.
In 2011, Garrett took his sports medicine skills into the fitness industry where he began working with competitive athletes and the general population, who have a history of orthopedic injury. He uses his knowledge of the human body to create safe, and effective, functional training programs. All of his programs are designed to achieve the client’s specific goals and also uncover and improve upon any movement limitations that affect the longevity of the client. He places emphasis on quality of movement rather than quantity, to restore the body's natural movement capabilities. In addition to his day-to-day work, Garrett covers various athletic events/games throughout the area, providing emergency care and injury evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.
